Having hosted an initiative to collect food, toiletries and toys for less fortunate people on December 5, Knowle Masonic Centre (KMC) welcomed its members’ generous donations once again on 27 March. In this second round of collections, all carried out in accordance with the government’s social distancing rules, Knowle Masons displayed their commitment to support their community once again.

In two hours, tens of bags full of food and toiletries piled up at KMC. Two days later, they were safely delivered to the Renewal Church in Solihull which is the main distribution centre for the Trussell Food Bank Trust in the area.
Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of Knowle Masons, KMC donated £200 to Hampton in Arden Preschool which is an Ofsted registered, non-profit organisation providing care and education for children aged 2 years to school age. In addition, £370 which was donated directly from Masonic lodges meeting at KMC was topped up with an additional £130 by KMC’s community fund and a total of £500 was donated to the Trussell Food Bank Trust.

Last but not least, 180 Easter eggs were distributed to various centres so that less fortunate children would have a big smile on their faces ahead of Easter. The Renewal Church received 80 eggs; the Newlands Bishops Farm which gives people with learning disabilities and mental health conditions the opportunity to learn work-based skills received a further 80 eggs; and Hampton in Arden Preschool received 20 eggs.
KMC is proudly happy and conveys its thanks and warmest regards to everyone who got involved in this wonderful event.
