Mark Phillips attended the opening of a new extension at T.S. Gamecock, home of the Shirley Sea Cadets, and was able to present a cheque for £1000 on behalf of the Province of Warwickshire, this in addition to the £500 provided by the Knowle Masonic Centre Community fund in April.

Mark made a short speech explaining who Knowle Masonic Centre are and how we support local charitable causes.

The event was attended by more than 100 people. The guests of honour were two Deputy Lord Lieutenants of the West Midlands, Carmen Watson and Clive Stone.

The Lord Mayor of Solihull, Mrs Diana Holl-Allen and her Consort John Courtenay, a member of Heart of England Lodge 6549 and dignitaries from the Sea Cadets and Air Cadets were also in attendance.

The opening ribbon was cut by Captain Neil Downing, RN, Captain of the Sea Cadet Corps.

Mark Phillips went today to present the cheque for £1000 from Province to Alison Davey at the Jubilee Children's Storehouse who was fabulously grateful.

These are photos of the presentation and the storehouse.

This is in addition to the £250 which we gave them from our community fund a few weeks ago.

Keith Reynolds kindly took the food basket contents to the Lode Lane distribution centre.

They were extremely pleased and all the items were gratefully received.

As well as all the usual items needed. they are currently in need of tinned meats...stewing steak, chicken curries etc which can be as a main course meal. Tinned vegetables also in need, any tinned items will be gratefully accepted.
