On Saturday 28 February the SRIA Province of South Midlands held their AGM at KMC. It was attended by members from across the country including the Secretary General of the Order and several Chief Adepts (PGM's) of other Provinces.

The SRIA is a fraternity rooted in Esoteric wisdom aimed at unlocking ancient light and truth for the furtherance of personal growth.

The Temple was kitted out in our regalia and equipment subtly lit in the different shades afforded by the KMC lighting system. The Festive Board was an excellent display of fraternity and fellowship where we dined with an excellent buffet and drinks from the bar.

The energy in the room was high which reflected how good a time everyone had at KMC. This is shown in the following pictures.

An excellent day was had by everyone attending.

A truly memorable evening unfolded at Forest of Arden Lodge No. 3826 in February, as Daniel Watson was installed into the chair of King Solomon.

In a gesture that underlined the family significance of the occasion, the outgoing Worshipful Master, Bill Davies, graciously stood aside to allow the Lodge Director of Ceremonies, Tim Watson, also known affectionately as Worshipful Brother Dad, to conduct the inner workings of the ceremony for his son. It was a highly emotional evening for all concerned, but not totally unprecedented you may think.

While family connections in Freemasonry are not uncommon, the circumstances were particularly noteworthy. Dan Watson, having diligently progressed through the various offices of the Lodge, has attained the chair at the remarkable age of just 25  – a significant achievement and a testament to his commitment and ability.

The Watson family’s Masonic story is set to continue at the Lodge’s next meeting, when Dan is due to initiate his 18-year-old brother, Ted. With that ceremony, the family’s membership within the Lodge will rise to three, equalling the number of the McPherson family (all of whom, confusingly, share the same first initial). So the Lodge may yet witness a similar installation in years to come.

Proceedings concluded with an excellent festive board, where the Lodge further marked the occasion by announcing a £1,000 donation to the Warwickshire Tercentennial Appeal for Fisher House which supports the families and loved ones of military personnel and veterans being treated at the Centre for Defence Medicine, based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, The announcement added another uplifting note to an already special evening.

A strong turnout of Provincial officers was in attendance, lending their support to the newly installed Worshipful Master and his understandably proud father, ensuring the evening will stand as one of the highlights in the Lodge’s recent history.

Amelia, a 7 year old girl from Rowley Regis, near Halesowen, has suffered with Neuroblastoma a rare cancer that affects children, since 2020. She has been through every type of treatment available, even partaking in clinical trials and has battled bravely. Unfortunately the cancer has repeatedly returned and she is now receiving palliative care.

On Tuesday 3rd March 2026, she will turn 8 years old and her final wish is to break the UK record and receive over 8,000 birthday cards.

The whole community has been pulling together, with the news spreading on social media, local radio stations and the local news. When the community unites, Freemasonry is at the heart of it.

Therefore brethren we request that you help us, to help Amelia, fulfill her final wish.

Please send birthday cards for Amelia into the Provincial office where we will collect them and arrange a mass drop to help her achieve the record and more. The cards must be received by Friday 27th February to be included in the drop. Please feel free to send cards to us from yourselves and your families.

Thanking you in advance brethren for your support. Let us be a vital part in ensuring this little girl's final wish.
